It is the festive season after all, so of course the odd mince pie, chocolate etc. is going to be consumed.
However, sugar has many long term detrimental effects on the body when taken out of proportion; such as excesses being stored as fat; increasing stress hormones and suppressing the immune system.

Loving your Christmas posts Susan. This one resonates as trying to rebalance sugars whilst being Type 1 diabetic and at Christmas is certainly a challenge. Keep to low GI products, balance treats with fish, meat & veggies and all in moderation. Keep ’em coming π
